Thematic Briefs on ‘When Homes Double as Workplaces’
City Collab collaborated with WIEGO and MHT on the research and publication project: ‘Making home-based work environments safer, healthier and productive’. Through this project, we aspire to bring to light the challenges of home-based workers arising out of the poor quality of habitat in low-income urban settlements and to advance knowledge sharing and solutioning amongst the many different stakeholders driving grassroots action and policy advocacy in the urban housing sector. The final three-pronged strategic framework documentation outcome is in the form of nine thematic briefs categorized under three broad strategies. The thematic briefs are supported by two cross-sectoral case study briefs. These showcase MHT’s sustained efforts with low-income communities over a long period of time, enabling their incremental progress.
